PATAGONIA - One year of adventure at the end of the world
Patagonia, the southern tip of South America, is a region of superlatives. For a whole year, the renowned photographer and South America expert Peter Gebhard (GEO, stern) traveled through the wild country at the end of the world. On foot, on horseback, by jeep and on skis. An extreme landscape in which heaven and hell lie very close together: impenetrable jungle, gigantic glacier fields, mountaineers' dream peaks such as Cerro Torre, Fitz Roy and Torres del Paine. To the east lies the seemingly endless dusty expanse of the Patagonian steppe with its huge estancias - the world of the gauchos, the cowboys of the south.
In a unique photo film live report Peter Gebhard presents the magic myth of Patagonia in the classical city to 21.01.2024: It reports from adventures like its route over the Patagonian inland ice, from the life in the cold rain forest, from the autumn sheep drive off with the Gauchos, in addition, from unusual meetings on the 10. He met hermits and dropouts with all their dreams and longings, experienced the great freedom, the loneliness and the eternal wind of Patagonia - an exciting road movie through the wild country at the stormy end of the world!
